The Findlay-Hancock County
Community Foundation is a tax exempt, not-for-profit, autonomous,
publicly supported, philanthropic institution. It is organized
and operated as a permanent collection of endowment funds for the
long-term benefit of the Hancock County area.
The Community
Foundation is a vehicle to enhance the quality of life in Hancock
County by using a variety of funds entrusted to its stewardship by
people, corporations, and organizations of various means to address
community problems and opportunities. The Community Foundation
has a broad grant program available to all charitable organizations in
Hancock County and serves all portions of the populations.

In 1854, the villages of Rome and Risdon were united
by Charles Foster, forming the community of
Fostoria. The City of Fostoria is named after
Charles Foster who was the founding father of our
town.
Our community of approximately 14,000 is situated in
northwestern Ohio on the county line separating
Seneca, Hancock, and Wood counties.

Hancock County Agency on Aging offers programs and services to
support senior adults in remaining independent and in their own
homes as well as to enrich the quality of their lives. Our services
are available to any senior living in Hancock County,
age 55 or better, regardless of income, health or other

Crime Stoppers of Findlay/Hancock County, Inc. is
made up of a board of directors with no more than 16 members. The
Findlay Chief of Police, the Hancock County Sheriff, the Commander of
the Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Hancock
County Prosecutor are standing members of the board. The remaining
members are individuals from business and industry, from Findlay and
Hancock County, who are interested in crime prevention and bringing
criminals to justice. A law enforcement coordinator is assigned to the
board and serves as liaison between the anonymous callers and the board
of directors.

The Hancock
Historical Museum is a local history museum committed to collecting
and preserving the historical information of Hancock County. The
museum complex at 422 W. Sandusky St. in Findlay includes the
Victorian-era Hull/Flater House; an addition at the back of the house,
which includes an Exhibit Center, Special Exhibit Room, archives, Cole
Congressional Study Room, conference room, meeting room, and S & P
Carlin Mercantile Gift Shop; the barn, which includes an agricultural
gallery, a transportation gallery, and a classroom; and the Crawford
Log House. The museum also owns and operates the Little Red
Schoolhouse and the miniature Riverside Train on C.R.36 on the east
side of Findlay.
Open Hours are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from
1-4 pm.

The Hancock County Solid
Waste Management District provides information about
community recycling awareness and litter prevention
programs and activities. The District supports events
such as litter collections, recycling collection drives
and the operation of a local Material Recovery Facility
as well as providing opportunities for volunteer
involvement and public education programs.

March 2, 1920 and has been actively involved in the

Since 1955, United Way of Hancock
County (Ohio) has gone from doing fundraising for a handful of
organizations to funding programs and services at 16 non-profit
agencies that serve the residents from Hancock County. United
Way today is not only a fundraising organization, but it is also a
"community building" organization. By partnering with other
non-profits and the local business and industry sector, United Way
works to make sure that what is being done is best for Hancock County.
